Stefanos Tsitsipas and Filip Krajinovic meet in the third round of the 2019 tennis French Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is coming off a four sets win over Hugo Dellien that took 37 games to decide. In the victory, Tsitsipas won 71 percent of his first serve points and 57 percent of his second serve points. Tsitsipas won 66 percent of his total service points and converted on eight of his 16 break points. Tsitsipas got 63 percent of his first serves in play and saved six of his nine break points. It was a slow start for Tsitsipas, but he cruised in the final three sets and was very aggressive at the net where he won 33 points. As long as Tsitsipas can clean up the unforced errors, he’s going to be an issue no matter who he plays in this tournament. Tsitsipas looks to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the third time in his career (First time in the French Open). Tsitsipas has won 13 of his last 15 matches on clay court.

Filip Krajinovic is coming off a five sets win over Roberto Carballes Baena that took 56 games to decide. In the victory, Krajinovic won 63 percent of his first serve points and 49 percent of his second serve points. Krajinovic won 59 percent of his total service points and converted on nine of his 22 break points. Krajinovic got 70 percent of his first serves in play and saved 14 of his 22 break points. Krajinovic managed to hit 82 winners in the match that took over four hours and was aggressive at the net where he won 35 points. Krajinovic is in the third round of a grand slam for the second time in his career, but it’s fair to question what he has left in the tank after playing 10 sets and about seven hours to get here. Krajinovic hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time in his career. Krajinovic has won his last seven matches on clay court.

There’s no match history between these two players.

Conditioning has a ton to do with how far players make it in grand slam play on the men’s side due to matches being so long and physical. Krajinovic has played 10 sets and over seven hours in his first two matches. Throw in the fact he’s not used to such a heavy workload with a lack of grand slam experience, and he’s going to have a hard time here. Oh, there’s also the fact Tsitsipas has been one of the hotter players on clay this year and has been in complete control of majority of his sets these last two months.

Tsitsipas rolls here, possibly in straight sets.
